In the early '90s Irazu changed his conception of the parts and the whole. He concentrated then on the relations occurring in the interior of the artwork. Direct action without prior schemas or sketches became more important, and he made his sculptures to achieve alternatives in the way they presented themselves, redesigning and amplifying the dialogues between the work and the spectator. To the Sleeping Part analyses the concept of structure and construction by means of six modules of different-coloured wood, resting on top of one another on the wall. Irazu insists on visual pleasure by introducing colour in his works, almost always using primary colours like red, blue and yellow that hark back to the tradition of the Russian Constructivist avant-garde.
