In the early stages of his career, Moraza based himself on Constructivism and Oteiza's ideas on sculpture. Later, he moved towards Minimalism and conceptual art after being influenced by artists like Bruce Nauman, Marcel Broodthaers and Joseph Beuys. In 1979 he founded the Art Watch Committee (CVA) with María Luisa Fernández (Villarejo de Orbigo, León, 1955). Basically CVA's activity revolved around the relationship between artistic creation and art theory. In this period they worked together to produce (P), a highly conceptual experimental work, which reflects their concern for finding other formats for sculpture and new spatial projections. This fragile, delicate-looking piece comprises strips and fragments of frames of different styles and sizes arranged in space in an apparently random way. It plays with the infinite possibilities of chance and probability. Indeed, the piece varies in shape and size every time it is installed. [Silvia García Lusa]
