The online collection and picture sale

• In Homage to Gianbologna Lazkano introduces a thick simulated copper frame that imbues the painting with a funereal solemnity, and which bears the inscription "NORA?" in Roman script. The central image shows the upper part of the corner of a well-known bank in Bilbao, adorned with a sculpture of Hermes in flight, a copy of one produced by Giovanni Bologna in 1574 for the Medici family. To this Romantic image is added the dream-like image of flight, both accentuated by the mystery of Hermes destiny to which the inscription refers ("nora?" in Basque means "where to?"). The Surrealist effect is increased by the difference between the light of dusk in the sky and the time shown on the clock, and the colour that envelops the whole painting.
