Inside a building we see the saint, now skinned, preaching to the crowds, who are listening to him with rapt attention. Since the thirteenth century, he has been depicted with the skin dangling from his arm. Saint Bartholomew is highlighted by placing him in a simple wooden pulpit higher than the people listening to him. The latter are characterised by their showy clothing and original headpieces, some of them Moorish in appearance. We can also see that both the facial figures of the figures and the turbans they are wearing are repeated in different scenes.

There is an attempt to capture the third dimension, seeking to create depth via the intense modelling of the faces, some bulky folds in their clothing and the architectural elements which appear more distant in the background, where we see a staircase covered by a barrel vault. There are also blind semicircular arches, and the panels on on the wooden ceiling are placed obliquely, giving a sense of distance. The perspective is linear. (Ana Galilea)
