Lazkano. De la arquitectura a la naturaleza

Jesus Mari Lazkano, (Bergara, Guipúzcoa, 1960) trained at the Fine Arts Faculty in Bilbao, where he is now a teacher. He began his own career in the early 1980s. Technically, his painstaking approach means his painting takes time to develop, although it does so with a striking virtuosity tenacious in its pursuit of an almost photographic representation of reality. His hyperrealist works evoke the Romantic tradition and something of the Surrealist spirit, while also reflecting his sensibility towards the visual values of architecture and landscape, which he uses to make his own subtle conceptual play between representation and reality.
